Paws for Justice
Paws for Justice is a fund raising campaign to purchase police dogs for the San Antonio Police Department.  Chief McManus wants to enlarge the K-9 Detail to allow for an officer and dog at each substation on each shift. This will ensure better protection and service to the citizens of San Antonio.

The present K-9 detail has 8 officers and a supervisor.  Each officer has two dogs, a drug detection dog, and a patrol dog.  The new dogs will be dual purpose dogs that do both drug detection and patrol.

Each dog costs $12,000.  18 dogs are needed to fulfill the desire of the Chief to enlarge the detail.  Budgetary constraints make this almost impossible to complete in a short period of time.

To help speed up this process, the San Antonio Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association has been asked to start this fund raising effort to purchase police dogs and donate them to the police department.

Can you help us make this goal a reality?
